I never thought I would be the person to attend a meetup with strangers, let alone start one myself. But as I’ve learned to come out of my introversion in the past couple of years, I’ve had some great experiences at meetups and can see so much value in people coming together to learn and build relationships.
Regardless of whatever side you’re on, loving meetups, or despise them, there’s no doubt they can be valuable places to spread ideas, learn, meet new people, and hopefully improve some small aspect of our lives.
While I’ve been trying to get more involved in the local nonprofit community I’ve noticed there aren’t really many events in Vancouver for nonprofit professionals. So this brings my question to you, would you be interested in attending one focused on nonprofit marketing?
The aim is to provide a place where we can all get together to discover and discuss the best new ways nonprofits of any size can use digital marketing, blogging, email, websites, content marketing, social media, video, podcasts and more to advance their mission.
This isn’t just about quick tactics to get more donations. This is for the people who are truly dedicated to a long-term mission and vision. You are the ones who need to find new ways to cultivate passionate supporters, donors, volunteers, and employees that stick around for years. By sharing our experiences, and the experiences of professionals in this space we can all learn to rally people to make change with us.
If you’re in the Vancouver/Lower Mainland area and this is something you’re interested in joining or helping with, feel free to contact me at meetup@methodiccontent.com to learn more about getting involved.
